Who these terms are with
These terms are an agreement between you and Moorhood. By creating an account or using Moorhood, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Moorhood is intended for people aged 18 or over in the United Kingdom.
What Moorhood provides
Moorhood is a community service for people on and around the waterways. It helps members find nearby boaters, share posts, request help, list items, create events and send private messages.
Moorhood is not an emergency, rescue, navigation, weather, medical or professional advice service. Always use official information and call 999 or the appropriate authority in an emergency.
Your account
- Provide information that is accurate enough for safe and genuine community use.
- Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you think somebody has accessed your account.
- Do not impersonate another person, create misleading accounts or use Moorhood for somebody else without permission.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from something Moorhood has done wrong.
Community standards
Treat other members as neighbours. You must not use Moorhood to:
- harass, threaten, exploit, discriminate against or deliberately mislead anybody;
- post illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, dangerous or seriously offensive material;
- share another person’s private information or precise location without permission;
- send spam, scams, malicious files or unwanted commercial messages;
- sell prohibited, stolen, unsafe or unlawfully supplied items; or
- interfere with the service, attempt unauthorised access or misuse another member’s content.
Listings, events and help requests
Posts, listings, events and help requests are supplied by members. Moorhood is not a party to arrangements between members and does not inspect, endorse or guarantee an item, event, person, price or piece of advice.
Use your judgement, check important information, meet and pay safely, and follow the law. You remain responsible for anything you offer, arrange, buy, sell or do through the service.
Location and personal safety
Distances, nearby results and waterway names are approximate and may be delayed or wrong. Do not use Moorhood to navigate, identify a safe mooring or make safety-critical decisions.
Think carefully before sharing where you are, when your boat is unattended or any other information that could put you or somebody else at risk.
Your content
You keep ownership of the words, photos, audio and other content you post. You confirm that you have the right to share it.
You give Moorhood a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies that must remain temporarily in backups or for legal and safety reasons.
Moderation and account action
We may review reports and remove, hide or restrict content or accounts that break these terms, create risk, infringe rights or may be unlawful. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to suspension or closure without notice where immediate action is reasonably necessary.
You can block members and report content. Contact support if something needs urgent review.
Our service and responsibility
We aim to keep Moorhood available and secure, but we cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose. We may change, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Otherwise, Moorhood is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for member conduct or content, or for business losses arising from personal use of the service.
Leaving Moorhood
You may stop using Moorhood at any time. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, visit moorhood.co.uk/delete-account or contact support@moorhood.co.uk. Some information may be retained where reasonably needed for legal, security, fraud-prevention or backup purposes, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms when Moorhood or the law changes. We will make the current version available in the app and give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep any mandatory rights you have and may bring proceedings in the courts available where you live.
